Airports
The Seattle Airport (SEA) is usually the best price with most flights options. Please note that we are 115 miles from the airport, and traffic on I-5 can be dense.
The best prices on rental cars are in downtown Seattle, a light rail train ride from the airport.
Bellingham Airport (BLI) is 71 miles from us, with light traffic. Rental cars are slightly less expensive than Seattle airport (but downtown Seattle has the best prices).
Rental Car Recommendations
Airport pickup of the rental car is convenient. But car rentals are MUCH less expensive away from the Seattle airport. We now have light rail directly from the airport to downtown and beyond. Buy the $3 ticket from a vending machine on the platform. This may be worth it if you’re staying in the northwest longer. There is so much to see, and it rarely rains in July.
If you are a Costco member, the best bet is Alamo in downtown Seattle, 1601 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA 98101, a two minute walk from the Westlake light rail station. I’ve been using Costco Travel more, because they usually have the best price, the second driver is included, you don’t give them your credit card number, and you can cancel any time.
Alamo rates aren’t bad even if you’re not a Costco member.
